West Penn Township police officer Jason Lorah examines a sport utility vehicle which rolled after encountering black ice on SR443 Tuesday evening. The crash occurred at 10:30 as a male and female were traveling east at the Mantzville road intersection. The unit swerved to the right striking an embankment before rolling several times, coming to rest on its side. The road was closed over an hour. The pair were treated at the scene by members of the Penn Mahoning ambulance and Lehighton paramedics. The West Penn Fire Company Number 1 also responded.
