Mahoning Wal-Mart robbed, 3 suspects caught
LARRY NEFF/SPECIAL TO THE TIMES NEWS The Wal-Mart in Mahoning Township was the scene of an armed robbery early this morning.
Three persons were taken into custody this morning following a robbery incident at the Wal-Mart store in Mahoning Township.
According to reports, the incident began about 4:30 a.m. when two suspects were apparently involved in a robbery. The two fled the store and got into a dark-colored vehicle and fled.
Township police requested the help of area police, as shots were reportedly fired by the two suspects while in the store and when they were leaving. However, that information has not been confirmed as of presstime.
An alert was made with a description of the suspect vehicle. Walnutport police spotted the vehicle in its area and made a traffic stop in the area of Treichlers.
Taken into custody at the time were two black males and a black female. Reports indicate the suspects are from New Jersey.
No one was reportedly injured.
The incident had numerous local and state police officers involved in the search for suspects. No other details were available from police at presstime today.
