Coaldale driver facing DUI count
A Coaldale man faces drunken driving and other charges.
Scott Ferryman, 38, of 127 E. Phillips St., second floor, faces two counts of driving under the influence (DUI), driving without a license, and failing to lower his high beams.
Coaldale police Officer Joseph Krebs stopped Ferryman at 2:11 a.m. Feb. 26 at Route 209 and Fifth Street after Ferryman failed to lower his high beams while attempting to pass the patrol car.
Upon speaking with Ferryman, Krebs could smell a strong odor of alcohol, and noticed that Ferryman's eyes were bloodshot and glossy and that his speech was slurred.
Krebs also found that Ferryman's driver's license had been suspended since 2003.
Ferryman agreed to perform field sobriety tests, which he failed.
Ferryman's blood alcohol level was 0.13 percent. The threshold for drunken driving is 0.08 percent.
