Burglary, theft incidents probed

State police at Lehighton reported on a burglary and theft incidents probed by troopers.

The break-in occurred at a residence at 150 Wintergreen Rd., Towamensing Township, Carbon County. Troopers said copper pipe was removed from the basement area of the unoccupied home. The home is the property of CITI Mortgage Inc., of O'Fallon, Mo. The incident occurred sometime between Jan. 19 and Thursday, Feb. 2.

Rita Swigar, 79, of 41 Quail Drive, Jim Thorpe, Penn Forest Township, Carbon County, reported someone stole her handicapped placard from her unlocked vehicle while parked at her residence. The theft occurred sometime between Monday, Jan. 30, and Tuesday.

Troopers said two copper ground buses were removed from a AT&T cell site south of the Trachsville Fire Company, in Towamensing Township. The items are valued at $400. The theft occurred sometime between Nov. 3, 2011, and Jan. 30.

Pamela Jo Nickerson, Fireline Rd., Aquashicola, reported her Beretta .22-caliber pistol was missing. She said the pistol was taken sometime between July 1, 2011, and Jan. 25.

Jason David Benscoter, of Walnutport, reported his vehicle entered while parked at Lees Auto, Towamensing Township, where it was for repairs. Removed was a CD player, amp and subwoofer. The theft occurred sometime between Jan. 25 and Wednesday, Feb. 1.
