SUV impacts Tamaqua business, misses clerk

Tamaqua Police were called to Our Family Mini Mart just after 6:30 a.m. today after the driver of an SUV lost control of his vehicle and crashed into the front wall and window of the store. In addition to large pieces of shattered glass, the impact caused major damage to the outside wall, as well as causing large inside shelves to fall over, just barely missing the clerk. Police identified the driver of the green Oldsmobile Bravada as Amado Rodriguez Rios, 38, of Reading. Police noted that Rios was driving without a valid driver's license. Officer Dane O'Brien is the investigating officer. No serious injuries were reported. Large pieces of shattered glass lie scattered around the pushed-in mason wall after the driver of an SUV crashed into it.
