Captain SOAR visits Towamensing students

Published April 20. 2012 05:02PM

Captain SOAR (a.k.a. Mr. Kris Hoffner, fourth grade teacher) zoomed in to talk with Towamensing Elementary School third and fourth graders at a recent awards assembly. He congratulated the students on their accomplishments and gave the fourth graders a little pep talk about their upcoming PSSA science test. "Always try your best," he told them. He reminded the students how they too can SOAR. SOAR is the schoolwide behavior support policy. "Safety first. The weather is nice and you want to run on the playground but remember to think, safety first. Two-Remember our responsibility to our school community. Three-Always try your best and Four-Respect Yourself and Others. If you follow all of these, the rest of the school year and summer will be just fine." And then he "soared" out of sight.
