Woman admits to drug counts; other pleas entered

A Northampton County woman admitted to drug counts while others in pending criminal cases entered guilty pleas on Tuesday in Carbon County court. Senior Judge Richard W. Webb accepted the pleas.

Search warrantKerri L. Graham, 39, pleaded guilty to counts of possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of an instrument of crime.Agents of the state Attorney General's office, and local police, served a search warrant on Graham's home on Oct. 14, 2008. Found in the home was quantities of methamphetamine and $34,000 in cash. Also found was a handgun.Webb deferred sentencing and ordered the adult probation office to prepare a presentence investigation (PSI) report which will include a drug and alcohol (D&A) evaluation.Other pleasOther defendants who entered pleas included:Janet Munoz, 42, of Breinigsville, Lehigh County, pleaded to five counts of receiving stolen property.Munoz was among 12 arrested for taking part in a drug and burglary ring that was operating in Carbon, Lehigh, Northampton and Schuylkill counties. The ring would burglarized homes and businesses and then sell the items at pawn shops. They then used the money to buy drugs for resale in the area. The investigation of the ring was labeled "Operation Golden Dope."Munoz's husband, Frank, was labeled at the ringleader in the operation. His case is pending.Janet Munoz was originally charged with 28 counts in connection with her part in the operation. A plea bargain reduced it to five counts. She has been cooperating wtih authorities in the case. Several other defendants in the case have already entered guilty pleas and or either awaiting sentencing or have been sentenced.Webb deferred sentencing and ordered a PSI.Brandon Michael Kosman, 20, of Summit Hill, pleaded to one count of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance-marijuana.Kosman was arrested on Sept. 24 during a sobriety checkpoint operation along Mauch Chunk St., in Mahoning Township. Kosman was a backseat passenger in a vehicle stopped. During a consent search of the vehicle a backpack was found and inside was a quantity of marijuana and $2,606 in U.S. currency.Webb deferred sentencing and ordered a PSI which will include a D&A evaluation.Dennis Eugene Miller, 48, of Lehighton, pleaded to one count of possession of drug paraphernalia. He was arrested on March 23 along Pohopoco Drive in Towamensing Township by state police. He was found parked on state game lands with rolling papers for a marijuana cigarette.Webb placed him on probation for a year and ordered he render 36 hours of community service.William Pizzolo, 24, of Kunkletown, pleaded to one count of criminal attempt-to possess a controlled substance. He was arrested on Aug. 15 at the Walmart store in Mahoning Township where he attempted to have a forged prescription for 90 tables of oxycodone filled.Webb deferred sentencing and ordered a PSI.Elizabeth Espino, 50, of Brodheadsville, pleaded to one count each of theft and receiving stolen property. She was arrested on Jan. 31 by Palmerton police by making various purchases with the credit card of another person without their permission. A total of $1,053.77 in purchases were made. Espino, it was noted, has repaid all but $200 of the amount.Webb deferred sentencing and ordered a PSI.Joshua Allen Everett, 24, of Lehighton, pleaded guilty to one count of simple assault. He was arrested on Sept. 13 by Franklin Township police for an incident in which Heather Kulls was the victim. The two had a relatioship that resulted in a child being born. He forced his way the victim's home after two broke up and struck her in the face, police said.Webb placed him on probation for six months.Tyler Scott Grohotolski, 22, of Palmerton, pleaded to one count of receiving stolen property. He was arrested on May 15, 2010, charged with having in his possession various items taken from Kelly Sommers, of Palmerton. The items included video games and jewelry.Webb placed him on probation for a year.Delbert Edwin George, 59, of Kunkletown, pleaded to one count of harassment, as a summary offense. A charge of simple assault was dropped in a plea agreement.He was arrested on Aug. 28 by state police following a domestic incident at his home with Agnes Sauders the listed victim. It was noted George and Sauders have reconciled.Webb imposed a fine of $200.Weston Allen, 34, of Riverside, Calif., pleaded to one count of false indentification to law enforcement. He was arrested on June 22, 2007, in Franklin Township. At a traffic stop he gave a false name. He moved from the area to California shortly after the incident and claimed he did not know of the charge until recently when he applied for a job where he lives and a background check showed an outstanding warrant for his arrest. He said he returned to the area to take care of the charge.Webb imposed a fine of $300.Sean Christopher Compton, 20, of North Wales, Montgomery County, pleaded to one count of retail theft. He was arrested on Sept. 14, 2009, at the Walmart store in Mahoning Township where he took $31.72 worth of merchandise.Webb placed him on probation for a year and ordered restitution of $31.72. He was given credit for 10 days spent in jail on the charge.Christopher Lee Zayas, 21, of Jim Thorpe, pleaded to one count of theft. He was arrested on June 17 for taking a diamond ring from the residence of Patricia Westbrook. He was in the home helping her move when the ring was taken.Webb placed him on probation for a year and ordered restitution of $1,500 to the victim. He was given credit for 17 days spent in jail on the charge.Ashlee Marie Tinley, 20, of Jim Thorpe, pleaded to one count of retail theft. She was arrested on June 20, 2010, at the Walmart store in Mahoning Township. She took $220.93 worth of merchandise.Webb placed her on probation for a year and ordered restitution of $220.93 to Walmart. She was given credit for 10 days spent in jail in the charge.Each defendant sentenced must also pay court costs, which average about $1,000, and a $50 per month supervision fee while on probation or parole.
