St. Gabriel auxiliary donates to area animal shelters

The Carbon County animal shelters recently received donations of supplies and pet food from the St. Gabriel Italian Club Ladies Auxiliary in Summit Hill.

Beth Turner, president of the auxiliary, said the group placed donation boxes at the club for members to donate items for the animals. Donations included everything from cat litter to newspapers and food.One cash donation was also received by a member who wished to remained unnamed.Turner said she was happy with the response for the donations and thanked members who helped make the group's first community project a huge success.During the donation drop off on Saturday, representatives from the Carbon County Friends of Animals and the Animal Shelter were on hand.They were amazed and thankful for the items that they were receiving from the group.The Ladies Auxiliary at St. Gabriel's is a new organization, formed only six months ago. Their mission is to contribute to the community.
