Concourse Club

The Palmerton Concourse Club will hold a meeting at 7 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 1 at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 502 Lafayette Ave., Palmerton. The program will be a Christmas Holiday with the Pleasant Valley Choral Society.Anyone interested in learning more about this service or club, or is interested in joining, may call Joan Turko at (610) 826-2716.Open houseThe Carbon Model Railroad Society will hold an open house at 529 Ore St., Bowmanstown, on Thursdays, Dec. 1, 8, 15, and 29, as well as on Jan. 5, from 7-9 p.m.They will also be open on Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 26-27, Dec. 3-4, Dec. 10-11, and Jan. 7-8, from 1-5 p.m.The main HO scale display is in various stages of completion, and is an excellent learning tool.The clubs portable HO and N displays will also be in operation.For information, call Garry at (610) 826-6636. Admission is free.Food pantry has movedThe Palmerton Food Pantry has moved to St. John's Lutheran Church, 2915 Fireline Road, Palmerton.The pantry will continue to be open the third Friday of every month from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.For information, call (610) 826-4335.Help wantedCan you spare one hour a week for a worthy cause? The Meals on Wheels program in Palmerton is always in need of more deliveries.Deliveries are made from the Palmerton Hospital about 11 a.m., Monday through Friday, holidays included.Each route requires less than one hour.
