Rain Forest coming to Lehighton

The Rain Forest is coming to Lehighton Area Middle School, Wednesday, Feb. 2 at 5 p.m. and 7 p.m.

Snakes, jungle cats, and monkeys beautiful parrots, macaws, amazons, cockatoos, and greys from around the world are all coming to Lehighton.Arrangements have been made for an appearance of Understanding Wildlife's "Live on stage, The Rain Forest." Understanding Wildlife is a nonprofit organization that travels from California to New York City with this rain forest program.Animal trainers will make a presentation during the day to all students at Shull-David at 2 p.m., Mahoning at 12:45 p.m., Franklin at 9 a.m., and East Penn at 10:30 a.m.Trainers will explain how energy conservation and recycling will help save the beautiful animals the children are seeing and other ways to help save the rain forests will be covered.At Lehighton Area Middle School at 5 p.m. and 7 p.m., a program will be put on for the entire family. Students will be able to interact with a few of these magnificent creatures.Flying macaws, talking amazons, and very mischievous monkeys will keep you laughing all night long.There is a cost for the program, and children under 3 years old are admitted for free. All children must be accompanied by an adult.
