An oil burner exploded in Slatington, causing a terrific explosion and fire that left 14 people homeless and sent a 21-year-old expectant motther to the Palmerton Hospital. Three homes were destroyed in the flash fire and a fourth badly damaged. Three other people were injured in the disaster, none seriously, and two Slatington firemen were overcome by smoke. Mrs. Shirley Frantz, the expectant mother, is in good condition in the Palmerton Hospital with mild burns of the face and hands.
