Earns black belt

Published October 21. 2011 05:02PM

Cory Schnaufer, son of Paula Schnaufer and Daniel Engler, is the first to receive a black belt first degree promotion at Dynasty Martial Arts in Palmerton, since the passing of Grand Master R.C. Nenow in July 2010.

Schnaufer, 29, of Coplay, started his martial arts training in November 2006.

Over the course of his career, he has not only learned self-defense, discipline and respect, but also has grown stronger physically, mentally and spiritually. Schnaufer is now a part of the Dynasty instructional staff, teaching children, teens and adults on Tuesday and Thursday evenings, and Saturday mornings.

Schnaufer holds a master's degree from Kutztown University and is employed by KidsPeace as a therapist since 2005.
