A Schuylkill County man is facing charges following an incident that occurred about 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 23. State police at Schuylkill Haven said the incident occurred at the residence of Marvin K. Melhorn, 20, of 186 W. Grand Ave., Tower City, Porter Township.

Troopers said Eric L. Reppert, 27, of Tower City, went to the Melhorn residence to confront him about a mattress the victim allegedly left on Reppert's property. Reppert and Melhorn were outside the residence on the porch when an altercation began.

During the altercation Reppert proceeded to assault Melhorn by pushing him against a wall of the home and punching him several times about the body. A 17-year-old female from Willamstown was inside the home and heard the banging against the wall. She went outside and observed Reppert assaulting Melhorn and attempted to pull the suspect off the victim.

Troopers said Reppert pushed the female with his right hand causing the female to lose her balance. At this point the female yelled to a neighbor, Evan L. Lettich, 21, of Tower City, for help. Lettich came to the aid of Melhorn and told Reppert to leave the property. While walking away Reppert said he wanted to fight Lettich and charged at him.

Reppert then punched Lettich several times in the face, then left.

Troopers said they filed three summary offenses of harassment against Reppert.
