A motorcyclist was injured in a collision with a tractor-trailer rig in Schuylkill County. State police at Schuylkill Haven said the accident occurred about 7:15 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 9, along SR443 at the off/on ramp to Interstate 81, in Pine Grove Township.

Troopers said John L. Breidenstine, 46, of Schuylkill Haven, was operating a 1999 Kawasaki ZG1000 bike eastbound when Donald G. Ponciroli, 54, of Salt Lake City, Utah, driving a 2007 Freightliner tractor with trailer, pulled in front of Breidenstine while attempting to enter the on ramp.Breidenstine was thrown about 15 feet from the bike upon impact. Breidenstine, who was wearing a helmet, was flown by LifeLion helicopter to the Hershey Medical Center for treatment of injuries. Ponciroli was not injured.Troopers cited Ponciroli for vehicle turning left.
