rcpnesq@ptd.net or call (570) 669-6321 if interested.VFW Ladies AuxiliaryThe monthly meeting of the Nesquehoning VFW Ladies Auxiliary was held on June 8, at the Post Home with President Cathy Sommers presiding.Thanks you notes were received from Verna Lazorchick, Vilma Drigan Sniscak and the Panther Valley JROTC.Lori Dacey will be thanked for the job she did on the Buddy Poppy Float for the Memorial Day Parade.A Miller Bloodmobile collection, sponsored by the Post, will be held on Wednesday, June 16.Members were thanked for their assistance and participation in Installation of Officers on May 28, Outlying Cemetery Services on May 30 and the Memorial Day Parade and services on May 31.Delegates to the National Convention in Indianapolis in August are Cathy Sommers and Maureen Hirochek. Alternates are Tillie Lakata and Mary Arieta.The audit committee will meet on Wednesday, July 7 at 11 a.m. at the Post Home.There is no July meeting of the auxiliary. Incoming President Amanda Breiner will host the annual summer picnic at Lake Hauto on Tuesday, Aug. 10, at 5:30 p.m. Members will meet at the Post Home and car pool to the lake. Those attending should contact Maureen at (570) 669-9578 to make reservations. Members are requested to bring a dessert item.Summit HillMethodist ChargeThe schedule for the Summit Hill/Coaldale United Methodist Charge for Sunday, June 13, is as follows:Worship services will be held at 10 a.m. in the Summit Hill United Methodist Church and at 11 a.m. in the Coaldale United Methodist Church. The Rev. Reverend Burgess Gordon, pastor, will officiate at both services.The adult Sunday school will meet at 10 a.m. in the Coaldale church.Presbyterian churchThe schedule for the Hope of Christ Presbyterian Church, Summit Hill, for Sunday, June 13, is as follows: Junior choir, 8:45 a.m.; adult Bible class, 9 a.m.; Sunday school, 9:15 a.m.; and service of worship, 10:30 a.m., with the Rev. Frederick W. Rogers, pastor, officiating.
