The Tamaqua Senior Citizens group met last week with 76 members in attendance. Two new members were welcomed to the group, Shirley Driesbach and Rose Kasch. The business session was conducted by secretary Eleanor Schmerfeld, who also offered her weekly report later in the meeting. Eleanor Roberts offered the invocation, entitled "Little Things."It was reported that Rose Fritz is a patient in the St. Luke's Miners Memorial Geriatric Center and the 2010 membership reached the 150 mark.The next meeting will be held April 22, at 1 p.m., at the Tamaqua Community Center, located to the rear of Boyer's Food Mart. Anyone 55 or older is welcome to join.Class of 1969The Tamaqua Class of 1969 will hold an initial planning session for its next reunion on April 29, at 7 p.m., at the Restaurant at the Station. Buehler Memorial (Bungalow) Pool. Morgan Foundation. Rates have been increased for out of district residents.Applications are available at Tamaqua Borough Hall, 320 E. Broad St.; the Tamaqua office of the TIMES NEWS, 200 E. Rodney Wells will officiate at the 9 a.m. worship service this Sunday in St. Peter's Union Church, Mantzville.The service will include the sacraments of Holy Communion and Baptism and will be followed by a fellowship hour.
