Program for Catholics

The three area Catholic churches will participate in "Encountering the Merciful Savior," an effort to increase the number of Catholics who receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation. Programs will take place on Tuesdays from 5-7 p.m. in St. Francis of Assisi Church, Nesquehoning; Wednesdays from 6:30-7:30 p.m. and Fridays from 10-11 a.m. in St. Joseph Church, Summit Hill; and on Wednesdays from 6:30-7:30 p.m. and Fridays from 6-7 p.m. in St. Katharine Drexel Church, Lansford.Summit HillLions Web siteThe Summit Hill Lions Club now has a Web site. The league was formerly two groups, one from Summit Hill and the other from Nesquehoning.The league will hold another registration session on Saturday, Feb. 27, from 10 a.m. to noon at both the Summit Hill and Nesquehoning borough buildings. A registration will be asked and first-time participants must have their parent(s) present their birth certificates and insurance documentation.The league will meet on Sunday, March 7, at 7 p.m. at the Summit Hill Borough Building.
