Winter carnival

The Good News Club is sponsoring a Winter Carnival on Saturday, Feb. 20, from 2-4 p.m., at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church. Registration will begin at 1:30 p.m.All children between the ages of 2-11 are welcome to participate, but must be accompanied by an adult.The event is free and will include face painting, balloon animals and more.TOPSThe Tamaqua Chapter of Take Off Pounds Sensibly (TOPS) meets every Wednesday, from 6-8 p.m., in the Tamaqua Salvation Army Community Center, 105 W. Information is also available on the Web at TOPS.org.Anyone interested in learning more may attend the meeting without obligation.RecyclingWednesday is the day for curbside recycling pickup for all residents of Tamaqua.All recyclable items must be placed in the containers issued to each borough household.
