Pennsylvania hunters are reminded a change in regulations by the Pennsylvania Game Commission allows for the immediate purchase of a second spring gobbler tag until the season begins, Saturday, May 1.

In the past, hunters had to wait until January 1 before submitting a license application for the second spring gobbler tag and then wait for the PGC to mail the license back to them. This was necessary to spread out the administrative workload of processing and handling licenses for the fall hunting seasons, however, because of Point of License Sales going statewide, hunters can purchase the second spring gobbler tag at any issuing agent and walk out with the license in hand.Hunters are able to take one spring gobbler as part of their general hunting privileges, and the second spring gobbler tag license affords those hunters interested in this additional opportunity to take a second spring gobbler. Hunters may only purchase one second spring gobbler license during a license year, as the season limit remains two spring gobblers, but they may only harvest one bird per day.Fees set by state law for the special license are $21.70 for residents and $41.70 for nonresidents.**********Qualified candidates are being sought by the Governor's Advisory Council on Hunting, Fishing and Conservation to fill the seat of Rich Czop, whose terms expires the end of June, on the board of the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission for District Eight, which is comprised of Berks, Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Lehigh, Montgomery, Northampton, Philadelphia and Schuylkill counties.Commissioners serve an eight-year term and are not compensated, but do receive a travel reimbursement.
