Extension internship

Published January 28. 2010 05:00PM

Michelle Johnson, Brodheadsville, is doing an internship at the Monroe County office of Penn State Cooperative Extension.

A Pleasant Valley High School graduate and a 2008 East Stroudsburg University graduate with a bachelor of science in biology, Johnson is continuing her education to obtain a master's in public health from ESU. She is completing an internship with Dawn Olson at the Monroe County Penn State Cooperative Extension Office as part of that master's, working with Olson on a new program called "Up for the Challenge: Lifetime Fitness, Healthy Decisions," that will be conducted in Monroe County later this year.

In addition, Johnson is currently working as a paraprofessional associate at Pleasant Valley Elementary School and is involved with 'Pride in Chestnuthill,' a volunteer group that helps keep Chestnuthill Township's roads clean and beautiful.
