Bereavement program

Published October 21. 2009 05:00PM

Ryan's Tree for Grieving Children, a program of St. Luke's Hospice, announces a one-day camp program at St. Peter's Union Church, Mantzville, from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 24.

Ryan's Tree for Grieving Children is a guided peer support program, provided through St. Luke's Hospice, for children ages 5 through 18 who are grieving the death of a loved one.

Based on the philosophy that children and adolescents grieve differently than adults, trained adult volunteers and the children themselves provide support in a nurturing environment to promote healing for those affected by death.

Ryan's Tree encourages this expression of grief on multiple levels, utilizing expressive activities like art, music, writing, play and physical release.

Pizza will be provided.

Registration is required. Call Bob at (484) 241-8043 or Linda at (570) 645-1840 to register.
