Palmerton, Pleasant Vy. sweep

The Palmerton boys and girls track teams opened Colonial League action with a pair of wins Tuesday. The Bomber teams defeated Salisbury and Notre Dame.

Pleasant Valley also gained a sweep in its Mountain Valley Conference opener against East Stroudsburg North.Other local winners included the Lehighton girls track team and the Palmerton tennis squad.TRACKPalmerton, Notre Dame GP at SalisburyPalmerton gained a double sweep in its Colonial League meet against Notre Dame and host Salisbury.Austin Shupp won both hurdling events and the Bomber boys took two relays in posting a 99-50 decision over the Falcons and a 101-49 victory against the Crusaders.
