Two drivers facing DUI charges

Two drivers are facing driving under the influence charges in separate incidents along Schuylkill County roads.

On Saturday at 12:23 a.m., state police at Schuylkill Haven responded to a two-vehicle crash report along Route 61 at Coal Mountain Road in West Brunswick Township.

Troopers said upon arriving they discovered that one of the drivers involved, Erik Stratton, 24, of Hamburg, was heavily intoxicated.

He was transported to the Lehigh Valley Hospital-Pottsville Campus, for a blood draw. Charges to be filed.

Troopers added that the second driver involved, who they decline to identify, sustained minor injuries. Both vehicles had to be towed.

The second incident occurred at 2:13 a.m. on Sunday along Route 61 at Mamies Avenue in Norwegian Township. Nicholas Moyer, 27, of Ringtown, was stopped after he was observed driving his vehicle and it was weaving and almost struck a parked vehicle. A traffic stop was made and Moyer was found to be under the influence of alcohol.

He was taken into custody and transported for a blood draw.

Troopers said the DUI charge is pending the blood test results.
