Carol Stefanik said there was no Palmerton Band in the Veterans' parade. She told the members of the Palmerton Area Historical Society at the Nov. 13 meeting that there are 80 elementary school students who are playing instruments and there is new interest in re-forming the Palmerton Band.

In the meantime the highlights of previous bands can be seen at the Heritage Center on Delaware Avenue.The wall at the Little White Church has been completed and the area is landscaped, though planting shrubs will wait for spring. There has been no report on the structural integrity inspection.The "Memories" book compiled by Mary Beth Beers is in the process of being printed. She thanked those who offered to help, and told them they were not needed at this time but may be later.The idea of a luminaria night was brought up and may be held in future years.President Jane Borbe listed upcoming events for the rest of the year: Dec. 2, 7:30 p.m., an ecumenical service at the Little White Church with a patriotic theme; Dec. 8, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., Concourse Club House Tour including the Little White Church; Dec. 10, 6 p.m., the Society's Christmas banquet at Blue Ridge Country Club with storyteller Kathy Long.Borbe said the Veterans' Memorial dedication and the County Veterans Parade, both on Nov. 11, were ways of showing respect to veterans.
