State police at Frackville reported investigating two hit and run crashes in which the drivers are facing charges.

Troopers said about 8:55 p.m. on April 22 Jason D. Joy, 33, of New Philadelphia, was operating a 2007 Toyota Tacoma pickup truck southbound on McComb St., in New Philadelphia, and made a left turn onto SR209 to go eastbound.

He did not stop for a posted stop sign and proceeded down the road. He then lost control of the truck on 209 after attempting to turn left onto Pine St. The truck then crossed the westbound lane and struck a concrete loading dock to a building at the intersection of Valley and Pine sts.

Joy then fled the scene, troopers said. He was later located. He is facing seven citations for vehicle code violations including hit and run, troopers said.

The second hit and run occurred on Monday, April 30, about 9:25 p.m. at 371 Brandonville Road, in Union Township. Troopers said Wayne Harvey, of Richmond, Va., was operating a 2011 Freightliner with trailer when he attempted to turn off Brandonville Road and onto SR339. The rig struck a utility pole with the passenger side of the trailer.

Harvey then backed up into the porch of Happy Loui's Bar. The rig caused damages to the pole and the porch roof of the bar. Harvey then fled the scene. Witnesses provided troopers with the license plate number of the trailer and the vehicle was later stopped in Mifflinville by state police at Bloomsburg.

Harvey will be cited for the crash, troopers said.
