Thrift Store holds Grand Opening Ceremony

Life's Second Hand Treasures Thrift Store, operated by Access Services recently held a grand opening celebration at it's now location at 217 S. Center Street in Tamaqua. The store, which preciously was located in the old El-Jay Jewelers Shop on W. Broad Street, had outgrown that location and needed a larger space. The new location, which is the former PA Career Link office, nearly doubles the retail floor space, and new off-street parking provides added convenience for customers who had to search for street parking at the prior location. Participating in the morning ceremonies were, front row from left, client Marie Giasson, State Rep. Jerry Knowles, 124th District, client Tony Fulmer, State Senator David Argall, 29th District, and Lori Miller, Director of Schuylkill-Carbon LIFE Program. Persons in the second row include, from left, support staff members Jim Fulmer and Tonya Warner, client Josh Messerschmidt, support staff members Kelly Lucas and Loie Smarr, and Store Manager Sarah Ohart. Life's Second Hand Treasures is open daily from 9:30 AM to 5:00 PM Monday-Friday, and 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM on Saturday.
