A representative of the Great American Power Company, with headquarters in Georgia, was cited by Tamaqua Police on Feb. 16 for soliciting without a permit.

The employee, Danielle Miller, 19, of York, was canvassing houses in the Owl Creek section of the borough when her actions caught the attention of a patrolman returning from an EMS assist call.Miller was told about the need for a permit.The incident took place at 4:50 p.m.Tamaqua Police remind residents to always ask to see a solicitor's permit and to contact police at 570-668-5000 if they see any suspicious activity.
