Panther Valley native dies

A former Panther Valley woman died after getting her arm caught in a clothing donation drop-off box.

Northumberland County Coroner James Kelley says 56-year-old Judith Permar died from a combination of trauma injuries she sustained in the incident and hypothermia.Investigators believe she went to the drop box about 2 a.m. Sunday. She was found dead more than six hours later.Born in Coaldale, on Aug. 28, 1960, she was a daughter of the late Edward J. and Eleanor G. (Bachert) Rehatchek. Judith attended Panther Valley schools. She was employed at the Mount Carmel Area School District until her retirement.A religious service will be held at noon Friday at the Joseph J. Stutz Inc. Funeral Home, 40 S. Market St., Mount Carmel. Interment will follow at 2:30 p.m. at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.
