Police investigate Monroe crashes

State police at Fern Ridge reported on the following crashes investigated by troopers over the past weekend on Monroe County roads.

A one-vehicle crash was reported at 8:56 p.m. Thursday along Cays Road, in Jackson Township. Troopers said Kyle R. Mohr, 23, of Succasunna, New Jersey, was westbound operating a 2003 Dodge Neon during heavy rain and fog with standing and moving water. Mohr told investigators he knew the tires on his vehicle were bald as he attempted to negotiate a left curve in the road. He lost control with the Dodge leaving the road and the front end impacting with a tree.Mohr was injured and taken to the Pocono Medical Center, East Stroudsburg. The Dodge had to be towed from the scene.Troopers noted Mohr would be cited for various motor vehicle code violations.A one-vehicle crash was reported on Friday at 9:36 a.m. along Interstate 80 in Tobyhanna Township. Marley D. Paul, 21, of Brooklyn, New York, was driving a 2007 Honda Civic eastbound when he lost control of his car by braking too hard, troopers said. The car veered off the left side of the road and traveled into brush and trees.Paul was not injured but the Honda had to be towed from the scene. Paul was cited for the crash.A one-vehicle crash occurred at 7:59 p.m. on Sunday along Kennel Road in Chestnuthill Township. Kennedy P. Sheeley, 20, of Saylorsburg, was westbound in a 2001 Chevrolet Malibu when she attempted to retrieve a water bottle from beneath her feet and under the brake pedal. While doing so, her vehicle veered to the right off the road and onto a slight incline. She then counter-steered back onto the road, but her vehicle overturned one time before coming to rest in the eastbound lane.Sheeley was injured and taken to PMC by West End ambulance.
