Schuylkill woman jailed after stop

A Schuylkill County woman, stopped for traffic violation and suspicion of driving under the influence, was jailed on an outstanding arrest warrant issued in New York.

State police at Frackville said Tabitha Schriner, 21, of Cressona, was stopped at 10:53 p.m. Friday along Route 61, south of the area of the Fairlane Village Mall, in East Norwegian Township. She was observed driving in an unsafe manner.At the stop police found her to be under the influence and placed her under arrest after she failed field sobriety tests. She was then transported to the Schuylkill Medical Center-S. Jackson Street in Pottsville, where she refused to submit to a blood test.A check revealed she had a felony criminal warrant issued out of the Nassau County Police Department in Williston Park. She was arraigned on a fugitive from justice warrant and committed to the county prison in Pottsville after failing to post $20,000 bail.Troopers said charges of DUI, careless driving, and for traffic citations will be filed as a result of the traffic stop.
