A Berks County driver was cited following a one- vehicle crash in Schuylkill County.
State police at Schuylkill Haven said Gregory J. McLaughlin, 62, of Hamburg, was driving a 2001 Chevrolet Malibu southbound on SR61 in North Manheim Township, about 10:36 a.m. on Monday, March 25, when he entered a jug handle to go east on SR443. McLaughlin failed to negotiate a left curve with his car striking an embankment.
The car then traveled over the embankment and re-entered 61 in the southbound lanes, then continued across the road, through the northbound lanes, and came to rest striking an ice cream shop building.
McLaughlin was not injured but his vehicle had to be towed from the scene. He was cited for driving on roadways laned for traffic.
Troopers also reported investigating a crash about 7:20 a.m. on Monday. Linda L. Arnold, 58, of Lebanon, Lebanon County, was driving a 2006 Pontiac Vibe northbound on Brookside Road, in Pine Grove Township, and rounding a left turn when she lost control due to snow and ice on the road. Her vehicle struck a drainage culvert along the berm which caused the Vibe to roll over.
Arnold received minor injuries in the crash and was taken to the Good Samaritan Hospital, in Lebanon, for treatment.
