Facing Tamaqua theft charges

Brandon Hosler, front, 20, of Walker Township and James Gilson, 18, of Tamaqua, were arraigned Friday morning on charges of theft from a motor vehicle and conspiracy to commit theft from a motor vehicle after they were observed rummaging through a car in the East End of Tamaqua. Gilson and Hosler were also accompanied by a 16-year-old Tamaqua male, who was turned over to juvenile authorities. Between the trio, they had $81 in bills, $19.93 in change, four lighters, packs of four different brands of cigarettes, two iPod chargers, a flash light, gum, condoms, sunglasses and a Rite Aid Wellness card. District Judge Stephen Bayer set Hosler's bail at $5,000 unsecured, while Gilson's bail was set at $5,000 percentage. Unable to post the required $500, Gilson was incarcerated in the Schuylkill County Prison in Pottsville. Escorting the duo are Tamaqua Patrolman Michael Hobbs and Tamaqua Police Chief Richard Weaver.
