Pleasant Valley dominated Pocono Mountain West to pick up a 54-12 win in Mountain Valley Conference action.

The win moves the Bears to 9-4 overall and 3-0 in the conference.The Bears started strong with Kenny Yanovich defeating Pocono Mountain West's David Clowney in the opening bout at 113 with a pin after only :55. The win moves Yanovich to 13-2 on the season and extends his winning streak to five matches.Pleasant Valley also got a win from an emerging force at 152, Joell Toledo, who pinned West's Joseph Parrotta in 3:08. With the win, Toledo also moves to 13-2 on the season.The Bears won the last five matches in the contest en route to an easy victory.Pleasant Valley coach Mark Getz wanted to see more aggressiveness from his team, and on this night he got what he was looking for."I thought we were more aggressive tonight than we have been in the past and I was pretty pleased with everything," Getz said. "I thought even in the matches we dropped we wrestled well."I was pretty happy with the overall performance."With the win, Pleasant Valley positions itself to make a run at back-to-back Mountain Valley Conference titles.This isn't the same squad that went 18-2 last season, but Getz feels he has the team he needs to be a threat late in the season."Hopefully we can turn the corner and make a little run here," Getz said. "We're a very young team."We lost a lot of kids and have nine to 10 new faces in the lineup that are brand new and don't even have varsity experience. To be 9-4 with that experience is pretty good."Getz believes the newcomers are peaking at just the right time and establishing themselves as contenders that deserve equal recognition with the best wrestlers in the area."I'm proud of the kids tonight," Getz said.
