Officials are investigating a  shooting incident stemming from hunting.

Just after noon Saturday emergency personnel were dispatched to a report of a gunshot victim in West Penn Township. The victim was found on a private lot along Route 309 about a mile north of Snyders.

Members of the Penn Mahoning ambulance and Lehighton paramedics treated the victim before being transported to a Lehigh Valley area trauma center.

West Penn police had three units on scene along with state game wardens. Authorities were concentrating and examining articles in a pickup truck parked on the lot.
