DUI checkpoint results

Between Sept. 6-9, the state police at the Stroudsburg barracks conducted a sobriety checkpoint that resulted in eight motorists being arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance.

In addition, five were interviewed but released after passing Standardized Field Sobriety Tests.

All told, 36 traffic citations were issued, along with 31 written warnings for violations of the vehicle code.

In addition, three motorists were arrested for being in possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia.
