As with all municipalities Polk Township reorganized on Monday. The board of supervisors remained the same for 2016 with Brian K. Ahner remaining as chairman, Michael D. Hurley as vice chairman and Nancy C. May as secretary/treasurer.

Ahner was also reappointed as a full-time working supervisor to the position of township roadmaster. May is also a full-time working supervisor in the position of secretary/treasurer. Their salaries will be set by the township auditors per Pennsylvania Municipal law.The board also voted on full-time employee benefits for the year. All full-time employees will receive 12 paid holidays, five sick days and paid vacation. All road workers will receive a clothing allowance of $350 per year. Full-time employees also receive fully paid medical, dental and retirement benefits. Employees Ahner, Gerald Zurat and Glen Green also receive medical, dental and vision benefits for their spouses.Ellen Gnandt, MBA, CPA LLC as the township accountant at $80 per hour. Gnandt will also serve as assistant treasurer once she is bonded.Attorney James Fareri was reappointed as counsel to the board of supervisors at a rate of $150 per hour. Attorney Jerry Hanna will serve as counsel for the Planning Commission at a rate of $125 per hour and attorney David A. Martino will serve as counsel for the Zoning Hearing Board at a rate of $145 per hour.Russell R. Kresge Jr. will serve as the township engineer again. Kresge will be paid $90 per hour plus mileage and expenses. The sewage enforcement officer will be Jonathan Shupp,

P.L.S. at a rate of $60 per hour and Scott Policelli will serve as alternate sewage enforcement officer. The board is in agreement that either the SEO or the alternate SEO must personally conduct all testing in accordance with DEP Chapter 72, Sec. 72.41 (l) in regards to PERC testing.May will be the voting delegate to the PSATS convention and will represent the township at Council of Government meetings. Beverly Christman will be the delegate to the Monroe County Tax Collection Committee.Ahner will be the supervisor representing the township in CJERP and Albert Barney Jr. will act as the planning member.Gary Bruch will serve as chairman of the township's Vacancy Board. The UCC Appeals board will consist of Greg B. Meckes, Robert E. Serfass and Dennis A. Smale.The vacancies on the Zoning Hearing Board will be filled by Thomas Milewski, Harold Touni and Georgia Hodyl. The Planning Commission vacancies were filled by Carl Heckman, Michael Hurley and Albert Barney Jr.Barry Borger will serve as township emergency coordinator.Berkheimer will serve as the earned income tax collector.
