Peter J. Sorokaput, 41, Lansford, will spend 30 to 60 years in state prison for raping two little girls in Coaldale, in a decision by Schuylkill President Judge William E. Baldwin on Friday.
Sorokaput had entered a guilty plea to 17 sex charges, including aggravated indecent assault of a child, incest, indecent assault of a minor, child endangerment, indecent exposure and rape of a child. Baldwin made the sentences on the charges concurrent.
The two girls were 7 and 4 years old when the incidents happened between August and November 2018. A ChildLine report was received on Feb. 11 indicating that Sorokaput, of West Kline Avenue, had molested the two young girls.
He was subsequently arrested by Coaldale Police and admitted to having sexual contact with the 7-year-old on three separate occasions and once with the younger child.
If released from prison, Sorokaput will be a tier 3 sex offender subject to Megan’s Law restrictions.
