If you're a Food Network fan, then you are familiar with celebrity chef Jonathan Scinto, who participated in season 6 of the network's Master Chef competition as well as the series Chopped Live!

What you might not know is that Chef Scinto has teamed up with Chef Hiram Quintana, who lives in Tamaqua and provides private catering services in the greater Philadelphia area, to compete in the World Food Championship, which will be held Nov. 9 to 13 in Orange Beach, Alabama.In preparation for the championship, the chefs will be hosting a "Taste of Tamaqua, Road to Alabama" event at 7 p.m. Saturday at 244 W. Broad St., Tamaqua,the studio of artist Stephen Bennett.While the chefs test run their entries for the Alabama competition, guests will be able to view Bennett's work and be entertained with live music provided by "Gypsy Funk Squad" and a LED light show by Sarah Deremer.Tickets are required.
