Author Gene Duffy, of Jim Thorpe, has successfully turned his novel, "As the Matzo Ball Turns," into a musical. The show will make its debut the weekend of Jan. 13 at Jim Thorpe Area High School's Olympian Auditorium, 1 Olympian Way, in Jim Thorpe.

The book, on which the musical is based, is a somewhat autobiographical sketch of Duffy's 10-year pursuit of fame and fortune while living in Los Angeles as he tried to break into show business.Tickets are on sale for the inaugural event at
