Heritage Hill Senior Community, Weatherly, will host a fall prevention seminar to help seniors learn how to stay safe this winter. The event will take place at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Greater Hazleton Senior Center, 24 E. Broad St., Hazleton.

Thousands of accidental falls among the elderly occur each year, and a large percentage of those falls results in a broken hip, head trauma or other serious injuries. Falls can happen anytime, anywhere, but they usually occur around the house while doing daily activities under normal circumstances.Heritage Hill and representatives from Fox Rehabilitation will provide valuable tips and tricks you can use to prevent falls this winter.This event is free and open to the public.
