Eight area residents were among 22 who entered guilty pleas to criminal charges in Schuylkill County court and were sentenced by Judge Cyrus Palmer Dolbin.

Keith Daniel Neff, 29, of 119 Pine St., Tamaqua, entered a general guilty plea to charges of resisting arrest, burglary, criminal trespass, theft, and criminal mischief.Dolbin accepted the plea and ordered Neff committed to the Department of Corrections for an evaluation to be used by the court to determine whether Neff shall be sentenced to the state Intermediate Punishing Program (IPP). The court ordered Neff to make restitution of $1,455 to Erie Insurance Company, and $41 to Tamaqua Hi-Rise for damages to an apartment. He was charged by Patrolman Michael Hobbs of theft of jewelry belonging to his grandmother, Alice Neff.Michael Charles Hill Jr., 21, of 47 Mush Dahl Road, New Ringgold, driving under the influence (DUI) of alcohol as a minor, sentenced to serve 72 hours to six months in the county prison with the sentence to begin Monday, March 4, at 10 a.m., fined $1,000, pay $100 to Substance Abuse Education (SAE) fund, $50 to Criminal Justice Enhancement Account (CJEA) fund, $50 to Catastrophe fund, $460 to Schuylkill Medical Center (SMC)-South (SMC), attend alcohol highway safety school, receive outpatient counseling, perform 20 hours community service, and driver's license suspended 12 months.On summary charges of failing to drive on right side of road, failing to drive at safe speed, and abandoning vehicle, fined $25 on each charge plus $150 in costs. Hill was cited by Coaldale Patrolman Scott Cramer.Alexander Joseph Modawar, 32, of 324 W. Broad St., Tamaqua, retail theft from Dollar General Store,Tamaqua, placed on probation 12 months, and pay $50 to CJEA fund, and he is forbidden to enter the Dollar Store. He was cited by Patrolman Brent Getz.He is currently serving 24 months on probation for retail theft charge involving Walmart Store in Hometown and possession of drug paraphernalia which was imposed by President Judge William E. Baldwin last August after Modawar pleaded guilty to both charges.Dorothy Lois Molion, 41, of 27 Center St., Tamaqua, two counts of retail theft from Turkey Hill Mini Mart and Boyer's Super Market, Tamaqua, sentenced to serve 12 months probation, pay $100 to SAE fund, and make restitution of 99 cents to Turkey Hill and attend Retail Theft School. Molion was cited by Cpl. Dwayne Hacker and Patrolman Michael Hobbs. She had previously been placed in the Accelerated Rehabilative Disposition z9ARD) probation program but it was revoked.Gary Leland Scott Jr., 26, of 605 E. Broad St., Apt. 1, Tamaqua, on a charge of burglary, was sentenced to serve nine to 23 months in the county prison with credit for serving 44 days, pay $50 to CJEA fund, and make restitution of $812.27 to Kane Lumber Company, 500 W. Cottage Avenue, Tamaqua, for property damage and $350 to Geoff Yesavage for theft of chain saw. Scott was cited by Cpl. Henry D. Woods.He also pleaded guilty to possession of a small amount of marijuana and was given a 30 day probation sentence to run concurrent, pay $50 to CJEA fund, and $113 to Bethlehem Regional Lab. He was cited by Patrolman Peter Wysochansky.Gabriel Xavier Thomas, 29, of 135 Coal St., Apt. B, Cumbola, Blythe Township, aggravated assault on Samantha May Dalton, sentenced to serve nine to 23 months in the county prison with credit for serving 231 days, pay $50 to CJEA fund, and make restitution of $3,497.20 to the victim. Railroad St., Tamaqua, theft of personal property of a sales associate, placed on probation 12 months, pay $50 to CJEA fund, and perform 20 hours community service. Thomas was cited by Tamaqua Patrolman Matthew Houser.Felicia Marie Bigg-Carr, 21, of 605 E. Bertsch St., Lansford, formerly of 134 W. Miner St., Coaldale, resisting arrest, placed on probation 23 months, and pay $50 to CJEA fund. On a disorderly conduct charge received a concurrent 12 months probation sentence. She was cited by Tamaqua Patrolman Dane O'Brien.Kerrianne Patricia Hoffman, 27, Pottsville, theft of property leased from Aaron's Leasing Store, Pottsville, was given credit for serving 143 days in the county prison and was released on parole for 23 months and make restitution of $1,573.88 to the store. He rented a television and home theatre system.He also pleaded guilty to four counts of retail theft and was placed on probation 48 months to begin at the expiration of the theft sentence and make restitution of $731.37 to Rite Aid Pharmacy, Pottsville, for theft of three televisions; $202.96 to Sears Store for theft of clothing; $534.81; to

Store, Schuylkill Mall, and $1,573.90 to Walmart Store, Saint Clair.Vincent Anthony Keller, 27, Weissport, criminal conspiracy to possess chemicals to manufacture a controlled substance, sentenced to serve one to two years in a state correctional institution with credit for serving 246 days in the county prison. He was cited by Coaldale Chief Timothy Delaney, when cited at 40 E. Ridge St.Jorge L. Tejada-Hernandez, 24, Minersville, DUI of alcohol, sentenced to serve 72 hours to six months in the county prison, fined $1,000, pay $300 to SAE fund, $50 to CJEA fund, $50 to Catastrophe fund, $60 to SMC-South, attend safety school, perform 10 hours community service, and driver's license suspended 12 months. He was cited by Minersville Patrolman Jason A. Klouser.Dillon Friendly, 18, Hazleton, two counts of DUI of drugs, sentenced to serve six days to six months in the county prison with the sentence to begin Friday, March 15, at 10 a.m., with credit for serving 15 days in prison. He also must pay $2,000 in fines, $200 to SAE fund, $100 to CJEA fund, $50 to Catastrophe fund, $120 to SCM-South, attend safety school, receive outpatient counseling, perform 20 hours community service, and driver's license suspended 24 months.On a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia was sentenced to serve an additional 12 months on probation to the DUI sentence. On a summary charge of having a defective rear light on his car was fined $25 plus $50 costs. He was cited by McAdoo and Rush Township police.Each defendant must also pay a $50 per month supervision fee while on probation or parole.
