Shade Tree CommissionThe Summit Hill Shade Tree Commission will be conducting its annual Arbor Day ceremony and tree plantings on Saturday, April 27 at 9 a.m. The ceremony and memorial plantings will be held in Memorial Park near the post office.Anyone interested in sponsoring a tree to be planted in memory or in honor of someone may call John Kupec at (570) 645-9644 or Lou Vermillion at 645-9772 for information.Trees will be ordered in mid-April. Volunteers to help plant and clean up are always welcome as well as any contributions to the Shade Tree Commission's efforts.History of St. Luke'sThe Summit Hill Historical Society will host a presentation on "The History of St. Luke's Hospital in Coaldale" on Wednesday, April 17 at 7 p.m. at the Summit Hill Heritage Center, 1 West Hazard St. The presenter is Joseph Tocci of the Radiology Department and will include many photos.For more information please see
