Seven area residents among 42 placed in probation program

Seven area residents were among 42 who were qualified by Schuylkill County District Attorney James P. Goodman to be admitted to the Accelerated Rehabilative Disposition (ARD) program.

The program is for first time offenders to give them a chance to clear their record if they complete the conditions imposed.At a hearing held last week President Judge William E. Baldwin granted the motion of Goodman and admitted them into the program and imposed conditions in order to clear their name. Each were placed in the program for a year, unless otherwise noted.DUI casesTwenty-seven people charged with driving under the influence (DUI). Each must pay a $500 assessment to defray the cost of the program, attend the alcohol highway safe driving school and perform 10 hours of community service. Each had additional duties to perform as follows:Jesse Lee Ansbach, 39, of 523 Washington St., Tamaqua, pay $100 to Substance Abuse Education (SAE) fund and driver's license suspended 60 days. Ansbach was cited by Patrolman Peter Sandor Jr., Tamaqua police, last Aug. 2.Terald Lee Hoherchak Sr., of 101 S. 1st Street, Lehighton, pay $100 to SAE fund, $60 to Schuylkill Medical Center, receive outpatient counseling and license is suspended 30 days. A charge of failing to obey a traffic control signal was nol-prossed. Hoherchak was cited by Patrolman Paul Olson, Pottsville police, last Dec. 4.John Thomas Kotch, 62, of 44 Wiggan St., New Philadelphia, has to pay $100 to SAE fund, $60 to Schuylkill Medical Center but did not receive a license suspension. Kotch was cited by Trooper Arthur Wink last Oct. 24 when stopped along SR209 in New Philadelphia.Christopher J. Miller, 19, of 2 Gameland Drive, Tamaqua R.D., must pay $100 to SAE fund, $60 to Schuylkill Medical Center, receive outpatient substance abuse counseling and license suspended 90 days. Miller was cited by Patrolman Jonathan McHugh, Rush Township police, last Oct. 24 when stopped on Pine Creek Drive in Barnesville.Kevin Michael Abrams, 19, Frackville, pay $100 to SAE fund, undergo intensive outpatient counseling, license suspended 90 days and summary charge of failing to drive at safe speed was fined $25 plus $50 costs. Abrams was cited by Trooper Joseph Aponick last Oct. 31 in Donaldson, Tremont Township.Richard Robert Baratta, 20, Fair Lawn, N.J., pay $100 to SAE fund, $60 to Schuylkill Medical Center, license suspended 90 days. On summary charge of careless driving was fined $25 plus $50 costs. A charge of underage drinking was nol prossed. Baratta was cited by Patrolman David George, Schuylkill Haven police, last Jan. 31.Carol Anne Blankenhorn, 40, Pine Grove, must pay $100 to SAE fund, $60 to Schuylkill Medical Center, license suspended 30 days and the summary charge of failing to drive at safe speed was nol prossed. Blankenhorn was cited by Cpl. Jeffrey Futchko, Pine Grove police, last Oct. 11.James Patrick Caulfield, 45, Shenandoah, has to pay $300 to SAE fund, $60 to Schuylkill Medical Center, receive outpatient counseling, continue with mental health treatment and license is susended 60 days. On summary charges of failing to drive on roadway laned for traffic and careless driving and was fined $25 on each charges plus total costs of $100. He also must make restitution of $9,946.78 to Seltzer Insurance Company and $2,562.22 to Wagner's property. Caulfield was cited by Patrolman Michael O'Neill, Girardville police, last March.Melissa Coppala, 33, Hazleton, must pay $100 to SAE fund, undergo outpatient counseling and continue with mental health trealtment. On summary charge of failing to drive on roadway laned for traffic was fined $25 plus costs. Coppala was cited by Patrolman Robert Minnick, McAdoo police, last Jan. 30.Bradley Allen Correll, 20, Saint Clair, pay $100 to SAE fund, $60 to Schuylkill Medical Center, receive outpatient substance abuse counseling and license suspended 90 days. A summary charge of failing to drive on right side of roadway was nol prossed. Correll was cited by Cpl. Mark O'Toole, Pottsville police, last Jan. 24.Robin Patricia Cotterill, 39, Schuylkill Haven, has to pay $100 to SAE fund, $60 to Schuylkill Medical Center and license suspended 30 days. A summary charge of failing to show a driver's license was nol prossed. Cotterill was cited by Patrolman Kenneth Jacoby, Schuylkill Haven police, on Nov. 14, 2008.Anthony Scott Drumheller, 31, Tower City, must pay $100 to SAE fund and $60 to Schuylkill Medical Center, receive outpatient counseling and his license is suspended 60 days. A summary charge of failing to activate his turning signals when required was nol prossed. Drumheller was cited by Trooper Michael Crane last Sept. 20 in Tower City.Kingsley E. Greis, 23, Pottsville, must pay $300 to SAE fund, $60 to Schuylkill Medical Center, receive outpatient counseling for substance abuse and license suspended 60 days. On the summary charge of careless driving it was nol prossed Greis was cited by Patrolman Richard J. Pugh, Pottsville police, last Sept. 3.John Kenneth Guidice, 24, Manorville, N.Y., must pay $100 to SAE fund, $60 to Schuylkill Medical Center, receive outpatient substance abuse counseling and license suspended 60 days. On a summary charge of violating limitations on driving on left side of road was fined $25 plus $50 costs and the summary charge of failling to drive at safe speed was nol prossed. Guidice was cited by Cpl. Jeffrey Futchko, Pine Grove police, last Sept. 27.Scott Allen Haas, 35, Ashland, must pay $300 to SAE fund, $60 to Schuylkill Medical Center, receive outpatient counseling for substance abuse and license suspended 60 days. On a summary charge of failing to drive at a safe speed was fined $25 plus $50 costs. Haas was cited by Patrolman Gregory S. Meisner, Schuylkill Haven police, last April 28.Howard Eric Harbauch, 50, Pottsville, has to pay $100 to SAE fund, $60 to Schuylkill Medical Center, receive outpatient counseling, continue with mental health treatment and license suspended 60 days. Summary charges of two stop sign violatilons were nol prossed. Harbauch was cited by Patrolman Charles Webber, Pottsville police, last Sept. 14.Jason Richard Harman, 22, Pottsville, must pay $300 to SAE fund, $60 to Schuylkill Medical Center, participate in Group Intervention Program and license is suspended 30 days. On a summary charge of careless driving was fined $25 plus $50 costs and charges of being involved in accidents with attended and unattended cars and trespass by motor vehicle on private property were nol prossed. High St., Nesquehoning, was cited by Sgt. Richard Weaver, Tamaqua police, with possession of drug paraphernalia last Oct. 9. She was ordered to pay $350 assessment to defray cost of the program, and $50 to the Criminal Justice Enhancement Account (CJEA).Holly Marie Pakosky, 20, of 13 Piersol St., Schuylkill Township, was cited by Trooper Troy S. Greenawald last Aug. 15 with possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance and criminal conspiracy. Pakosky was ordered to pay a $350 assessment, $100 to SAE fund, $50 to CJEA, and make restitution of $176 to Bethlehem Regional Lab.Robert James Bergan, 31, Gordon, was cited by Lt. Daniel Holderman, Butler Township police, last Dec. 22 with possession of an instrument of crime. Summary charges of loitering around a car wash and disorderly conduct were nol prossed. Bergan was assessed $350 for the program.Anthony James Edmondson, 20, Girardville, cited by Patrolman James Cuttita for criminal conspiracy, burglary, criminal trespass, theft, receiving stolen property and criminal mischief at the Girardville Beverage building last Nov. 24. He was assessed $350. In addition he must make restitution of $2,954 to the victim.Cindy Louise Arias, 38, Shenandoah, cited by Patrolman Joseph Hall, Shenandoah police, of cashing a check on the account of Ramiro Zamudis in a bank last July 3. Arias was assessed $350, perform 10 hours community service, make restituitlon of $280 to the victim and perform 10 hours of community service.Amanda J. Gill, 49, Pottsville, was cited by Patrolman Brian Pyle, Minersville police, last Nov. 3 with altering a car plate. Gill must pay a $350 assessment fee. On a summary charge of failling to carry car insurance was fined $300 plus $50 costs and the summary charge of driving an unregistered car was nol prossed.Christina Louise Green, 30, Pottsville, was cited by Patrolman Eugene M. Yourey, Pottsville police, with filing a false statement to enter the assistance program in a public housing development. Green must pay a $350 assessment.Tanya Lea Griffin, 38, Ashland, was cited by Shenandoah police, with forgery of checks, theft of money from Grace Gilbert at the Shenandoah Manor Nursing Home. She was assessed $350 assessment, perform 10 hours community service, pay $50 to the CJEA, and make restitutilon of $650 to the victim.Charles Edward Huhn, 18, Girardville, was cited by Trooper James Cuttitta last Nov. 24 with criminal conspiracy to commit a burglary at the Girardville Beverage building and receiving stolen property. Huhn was ordered to pay a $350 assessment and make restitution of $2,954.03 to the victim.Michael Austin Liggett, 26, Carlisle, was cited by Patrolman Gregory S. Meisner, Schuylkill Haven police, last July 25 with possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Liggett was ordered to pay a $350 assessment, $100 to SAE fund and make restitution of $113 to Bethlehem Regional Lab.Rebecca Ann McElhenny, 28, Shenandoah, was cited by Patrolman Brian Thompson, Rush Township police, last Nov. 30 with criminal conspiracy to steal merchandise from Walmart Store. McElhenny must pay a $350 assessment and make restitution of $266.74 to the store.David Peter Pachari Jr., 40, Auburn, was cited by Chief Anthony M. Kuklinski, Auburn police, last March 23 with two counts each of harassment of neighbors and disorderly conduct. He was ordered to pay a $350 assessment and make restitutilon of $113 to Bethlehem Regional Lab.Andrew Pohronezny, 26, Minersville, was cited by Patrolman Warren Firing, Schuylkill Haven police, last Nov. 4 with theft from property of Daniel Reber, 204 E. Market St. He was ordered to pay a $350 assessment. On a summary charge of public drunkenness was fined $100 and costs.Carla Ann Reber, 21, Schuylkill Haven, was cited by Trooper Mark Baron with retail theft from Boscov's Store, Fairlane Village Mall, Pottsville. Reber was ordered to pay a $350 assessment and make restitution of $183.92 to the store.Diane May Riverburgh, 44, Saint Clair, was cited by Trooper Michael Allar last Nov. 7 with retail theft and corruption of minors. She was ordered to pay a $350 assessment and make restitution of $386.27 to Boscov's Store, Fairlane Village.Each defendant must pay court costs and a $50 per month supervision fee while in the program.
