Notes

... Ferguson has won five matches by fall, and another by technical fall. The freshman was third at the Branywine Invitational and first at the Kutztown Invite, both at 113 pounds ... Smay was fourth at the Brandywine Invite at 106 pounds ... Lata was third at the South Williamsport Tournament, wrestling at 106 pounds ... Schwartz was a runner-up at the South Williamsport tournament, third at the Pope John Paul Invite and fourth at the JT Christmas tourney ... Bauer placed third at the Brandywine Invite ... Fritzinger was third at the Kutztown Invitational ... Sangiuliano has been on great form this season, and won his last eight matches. The junior was third at the Brandywine Invite, second at the Kutztown Invitational, and first at the Christmas City Tournament. A district runner-up as a freshman, Sangiuliano appears to only be getting stronger ... Coccio won the Darren Klingerman Invitational in early December wrestling at 132 pounds ... Both Christman and Whiteman are accomplished wrestlers, and we got to see an early season showdown on Monday at Palmerton. Christman pinned Whiteman in 35 seconds - his 11th fall of the season. A state qualifier a year ago, Christman was third at the Carlisle Wrestling Tournament and first at the Governor Mifflin Holiday tourney earlier this season. Whiteman has been stellar as well, placing first at the Brandywine Invite and Kutztown Invitational and grabbing a runner-up finish at the Christmas City Tournament ... Pagotto has been very good this season, winning the Kutztown Invite and placing third at the Christmas City Tournament ... Syracuse was fifth at the South Williamsport Tournament ... McDermott was fourth at the Pope John Paul Tournament, seventh at the Jim Thorpe Christmas Tournament and second at the South Williamsport tourney ... Lalik pinned Moyer in 37 seconds in the consi quarters at the Carlisle Tournament ... Dorn was third at the South Williamsport Tournament ... The 170-pound group is pretty deep. Rodriguez gets the nod over Fronheiser here because the senior won their most recent meeting, 3-1, on Dec. 11. Fronheiser pinned Rodriguez in the first match at the Brandywine Invite ... Womack was first at the South Williamsport tourney ... Newhall has been extremely impressive as a freshman, placing third at the Pope John Paul Tournament, fifth at the Jim Thorpe Christmas tourney and second at the South Williamsport event ... Frable was third at the South Williamsport tournament, where he lost by major decision to Jim Thorpe’s Austin Williams in the 182-pound semis ... Zeigenfuss was first at the Brandywine Invite, fifth at the Kutztown Invitational and fifth at the Christmas City Tournament ... Wickersham was fifth at the Darren Klingerman Invitational ... Williams won the Pope John Paul Invite, the Jim Thorpe Christmas Tournament and the South Williamsport tourney wrestling at 182 pounds ... Mazzella also placed first at the South Williamsport Tournament, wreslting at 195 pounds. A matchup between Williams and Mazzella would be fun to watch ... Like Williams, Mordaunt won the Pope John Paul Tournament, Jim Thorpe Christmas Tournament and the South Williamsport tourney ... Watson was fourth at the Xcalibur Invitational .... Rodriguez was a runner-up at the Brandywine Invite and the Kutztown Invitational .... Strouse won the season-opening Darren Klingerman Invitational with four pins.
