State police at Frackville - crashes
State police at the Frackville barracks reported the following crashes:
• Police responded to a one-vehicle crash at 2:07 p.m. Sept. 21 on Interstate 81 in Kline Township.
They said that Katherine Bryson, no age or address listed on the report, was operating a 2021 Toyota Venza northbound when she became fatigued, dozed off and the vehicle drifted onto the right shoulder of the highway and hit a guide rail.
The vehicle had sustained functional damage and was driven from the scene.
Bryson was given a written warning after the crash, according to police.
• Ashley N. Marchetti, 31, of Mahanoy City, was injured after a one-vehicle crash at 4:40 a.m. Sept. 20 on Interstate 81 in Mahanoy Township.
Police said she was transported by personnel from the Ryan Township Emergency & Rescue Squad to the Lehigh Valley Hospital East, Pottsville.
They said she was driving a 2017 Ford Explorer south and lost control of it after the vehicle struck standing water in the roadway. It then hit the side of a bridge on the southwest side of the road. The SUV was be towed from the scene.
Marchetti was cited after the crash, according to police.
• Devin Kunkel, 22, of Tamaqua, was cited after one-vehicle crash at 2:53 p.m. Sept. 18 on Route 895 in East Brunswick Township. He was uninjured in the incident.
Police said he was driving a 2013 Ford F-350 north when he approached traffic at the intersection with Red Dale Road and applied his brakes to avoid a collision, at which time the F-350 swerved and traveled off the east side of the road, down an embankment and rolled onto its passenger side.
The truck had disabling damage and was towed from the scene, police said.
