The Carbon County Art League is offering a $100 grand prize for the winner of its Pumpkin Painting Contest Maker’s Market and Amphitheater Open Mic on Oct. 10 in Lehighton Park.

Participants bring their own pumpkin and the art league provides paint and brushes. Participants have from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. to paint their pumpkins to be judged by local artists. The winner’s pumpkin will be displayed in downtown Jim Thorpe for the fall season.

Hot dogs, popcorn and cotton candy will be on sale to benefit the art league. To rent a 10x10 vending space, visit carboncountyart.com.
