Franklin Township supervisors took the following action recently:

• Approved a resolution on behalf of the Franklin Township Volunteer Fire Company, a Local Share Account Grant request from the Commonwealth Financing Authority in the amount of $114,590, to be used for mobile radios for the fire company.

• Granted a waiver request to the Kruger/Crabtree minor subdivision plan, and conditionally approved the minor subdivision plan conditioned upon the township engineer’s letter.

• Approved the Minimum Municipal Obligation worksheet for Franklin Township of Carbon County for plan year 2027 in the amount of $42,505.

• Approved the Franklin Township Police Pension Plan worksheet for the 2027 Minimum Municipal Obligation in the amount of $78,338.

• Due to Columbus Day, trash collection will be moved from Oct. 12 to Oct. 13.

• An electronics recycling event will be held from 9-11 a.m. Oct. 17, or until the truck is full. Residents are encouraged to bring accepted electronics for recycling. Information sheets listing accepted items will be available.

• The Franklin Township fire police to assist Palmerton Borough at 4 p.m. Oct. 18 for the Palmerton Halloween Parade, with a rain date of 4 p.m. Oct. 19.
