Northern Lehigh School District has received several charitable contributions recently.

Superintendent Dr. Matthew J. Link shared those with the school board on Monday.

“It is with great appreciation that I share this August we received we received several very generous donations of school supplies that have been distributed to the four schools as resources for students that may struggle to acquire some of the basic supplies or may find themselves in that situation as the school year progresses,” Link said. “This year donations were received from The Neff’s National Bank, the New Tripoli Bank and Giant grocery store.”

Link noted that each organization hosted its own school supply drive and then delivered the donations to the school district.

“So thank you to those three organizations and all the community members that donated the supplies which ultimately will make their way into the hands of our students,” he said. “If you could have seen this board room for about a week, it was full of boxes and school supplies, hygiene supplies, and we are just very grateful that we are able to then put them out to the school and they support our students and their families.”

Link also acknowledged the generosity of the Lehigh Valley Educators Credit Union, which again this year covered the cost of the employee luncheon for all employees on Aug. 20

He said the Credit Union issued a check for $2,000 to the district, which funded the total cost of the luncheon.

“I believe that is maybe the fifth or sixth year that they have consecutively done that,” he said. “Again another great community partner.”
