Christina Tinoco from the Pennsylvania School Boards Association honored two of the Weatherly Area School Board’s directors at the Sept. 2 meeting.

“We are so excited to recognize and celebrate the dedicated service of school board directors in the Weatherly School District,” Tinoco said. “Through PSBA’s Honor Roll of School Board Service Program, we recognize school directors who have reached important service milestones, beginning at five years of service and continuing at five-year intervals throughout their board tenure.”

The honor roll recognizes the directors’ commitment to public education and the countless hours they serve.

“School directors devote countless hours to thoughtful decision making, planning for the future, overseeing district resources and advocating for opportunities that help all students succeed.”

Tinoco presented a plaque and a certificate to Barbara Sipler for five years of service, and to Gerard Grega for 30 years of service. Grega attended the meeting virtually and will be given his award at a later date.
