Payment of $600 in annual salaries to officers of the Panther Valley Recreation Commission came under fire during the commission’s meeting this week.

Sadie Nochton of Lansford asked about the salaries. Commission president Francis Mongi said the secretary and treasurer received $250 each and the president, $100.

Mrs. Nochton said no salaries should be paid. It was noted Mrs. Edith Marks turned her $100 salary back to the commission during her term as president.

Howard Pforr of Lansford is secretary of the commission, while Paul Radocha of Coaldale is its treasurer.
